The Packers accept with this post. Glennon has always been a QB that I liked and I am banking on him getting a chance to start this season. Coates and Hogan did not take hold of their opportunity or live up to their contracts this year, but I like Coates's talent and Hogan with a year under his belt with Brady could help. Jatavius Brown played well, but Teo is back and he will have to also compete at LB. Swearinger is a low cost safety that may see less time with Mathieu returning, but he is young and has played okay when on the field.

The Vikings receive a lot of young players with RFA, including two offensive players in Williams and Humphries that could be solid starters in the near future. The RFA players can return draft picks if they come into their own as can be expected. Alexander could be a starter as early as this year and the draft picks will help the Vikings stock their roster with a few more RFA players.

The best of luck to the Vikings and I look forward to competing against them in the coming years in the NFC North as they build their Dynasty!!!

Getting some young guys needed to rebuild and make MIN competitive in the near future

Vikings are unloading young talent on great contracts (and whom have shown tremendous upside) to receive young talent (with majority limited upside) to become competitive in the NEAR future???

Not sure this is a step in the right direction (really appears to take a step back actually). Especially for a young rebuilding team.

Year after year we harp on protecting new owners from themselves, yet they are persistent in making trades they "feel" is better for their team or in trading away players because they "don't like them". As a result, the stronger teams get stronger and the weak often remain weak.

So they finally make their trade and then voila! They waste away a year in non-competitive mode hoping to get great draft positions, etc., and/or...something comes up and they just can't continue in the league.

Those who know me also KNOW the reasons why I repeat these things over and over...like a broken record on skip...It's because MOST of us have been there, done that, and seen the destruction first hand.

In all honesty...I DO NOT see the benefit to this young rebuilding team BUT!!! Apparently we all need our cherry popped. I just hope Vikings stick around and make a fool of me by becoming competitive in the NEAR future.

I just can't... it's bad. It's hard to say Coates and Hogan didn't live up to their contracts when their contracts are 1.1m and 2.3m respectively. 140 pts out of a 2.3m offensive player is pretty nice. Glennon has a great chance to start this year at 3.1m. Just huge upside for GB and limited for Vikings. Jonathan Williams could be a piece but he's stuck behind Shady still and there are a bunch of mediocre at best players going to Vikings while Packers get all solid high upside cheap players.

I've been thinking about this one and just can't pass it. First of all I think inter-divisional trades and particularly big ones are mistakes. Second. all of the Players coming to the Packers in this trade have a legitimate chance to win a starting job. There is maybe one or two possible starters among the players going to the Vikings. In my opinion, this trade makes a strong team the Packers stronger and a significantly weakens the Vikings. The Vikings are trading away their #2 & #3 WRs, their #1 LB and their #2 DB in addition to a QB that has a chance for a starting gig. It's just too lopsided in favor of the Packers.

I have to agree also ..too lopsided for me .Vikings would like to get younger and competitive yet there trading Glennon, Coates, and Hogan just doesn't add up especially what he is getting in return ..
