Slay is currently ranked rather low as far as CB's go, he is in the 40's for CB, and near 100 in all DBs.
However, we see a lot of potential in him, and would like for him to turn into a true shutdown corner for us.
Ryan Logan and David Amerson both play CB, and have better past scores than Slay, and just signed contracts of 4yrs at 2 and 1.7 M.
Because of the potential we see and hope for, but the comps based on past performance, and our tender we need to exceed, we feel it is very fair to offer Mr. Slay a contract of 4 years at $2.5M per year.
This would make Slay the highest paid DB on our team.
