The Seattle Seahawks agree to trade:
QB Tony Romo - $9,000,000 (2013)
to the New York Giants for:
QB Eli Manning - $8,500,000 (2015) DL Olivier Vernon - $400,000 (2014) RFA
Romo is having a great season and is currently the #5 overall player, but moving him for Eli gives me a good QB for the next couple seasons. I think that as bad as Eli has been he will bounce back, and with Bush and Hawk signed for a couple years this keeps my championship window open a little longer. Vernon has been turning it on of late and will work into my D-line rotation and was the piece that made this trade a good deal for me. Seahawks accept. Nice working with you, Giants, see you in the playoffs!
*proposed on mfl in two parts. Vernon has been offered as a separate trade because he plays tonight. This way the Giants won't be left without a QB for their line-up this week if the trade is not processed before kickoff this evening.

Giants confirm. Been looking to upgrade my QB all offseason and kinda let my pursuit drop once the season started. Started to see all the moves being done by the AFC contenders and thought it was time I made a splash as well. Im a Cowboy fan at heart and love the fact that Tony is having a great year and hope he gets me multiple championships this year as he is now my QB in every league that I am in this season. I will probably Franchise him at the end of the year as I will have a ton of cap room opening up next year. Really hurt losing the contract stability of Eli and having to include Vernon, but I think Romo could be the key to me winning it all here. *Will accept on MFL shortly.

Hopefully the trade will be processed timely - as I'm not sure about this unorthodox style of dividing ONE trade into TWO parts, especially where there couldn't possibly be players exchanged in both. However, as a matter of opinion, I'm not opposed to the idea.
