Been patiently waiting and figured it was time to make some kind of move for a playoff push. Took a look at the Falcon's block and made a pitch. Deal is mostly for 4 players on my part : Broyles, Pettigrew, White, and Edwards. All good young cheap players with solid potential. I take on some expiring contracts at positions that I need some upgrade. Dont plan on franchising any of them so they could end up on Falcon's roster next year.
Quick and straight talks with the Falcons. No beating around the bush with him.
Falcons to confirm.

Accepted on MFL. The only player I really lose is Kirkpatrick who isn't having much of a year. Right now, I am just trying to get as much talent as possible. Plus, I do get some starting material in return. Thanks Giants.

After sifting through the junk pieces, I think and feel as though Falcons could have received quite a bit more. The price to pay for competing SHOULD BRING some sort of sacrifice on behalf of the team wanting to compete. Giants give-up a few (long-term/future) potentials in Broyles, Posey, and Edwards, but nothing solid.
Pettigrew and Hardy could be considered a cancellation with both being on one-year contracts imo.
Neither does the fact that Boldin and Tate being on one-year contract's erase the value of their respective roles on offense.
That said, there is at least a possibility existing that Falcons benefit in the long-run, even though I feel they could of received more. Because of such, along with a few other trades along the same line this year, it's barely OK.

To me it comes down to a simple problem, there are two solid pieces moving one way (Boldin and Tate) and only one piece that might materialize Into something going back. I get that boldin and Tate are on one year contracts but there is no long term appeal in the junk that is being given for them here
Sorry but
Veto (1-1)

I think Falcons could have gotten a bit more, but Broyles was a hot name earlier this year, but it seems his stock is down quite a bit at the moment. Either way, assuming good health, he should be a good option sooner or later in an electric Lions offense. Tate is a boom or bust wide receiver, kind of like Boldin. Hardy is good, but the depth the Falcons get is quite nice and Pettigrew is a solid TE.
APPROVE (2-1)

I think the Falcons are getting a raw deal here, which is why we delay new owners trading and why we should look to protect them early on. I like Broyles but he has done nothing but tear his acl and have no impact when there is ample opportunity for him to be an impact player. Pettigrew is a good TE whose contract expires at season's end. The rest are depth guys, many of whom probably won't ever help the Falcons build their team. The Giants may be getting expiring contracts but they are guys who have real value the rest of this season. The Falcons need more to balance this trade. Perhaps if the pick were a couple rounds higher I could get behind this trade but as is I have to Veto (2-2).
