IMO, Lions need to give up more...
2nd round pick or so.
*EDIT - HA TYPO! SHOULD READ:
IMO, RAVENS need to give up more...

Wrote that while sitting waiting for my accountant... just got the teams mixed up. Carry on!

Although a lot of you may disagree I believe Kelvin is the future star and he will be of equal value of to greenway in just a year or two What I do see as the problem is the length of the contract, so maybe even a late 2nd would make this deal doable

Cardinals seem to have it. As for the 9'ers (whatintheworld!?!)
I too believe Kelvin has a great future ahead of him (that's why I originally drafted him). The problem, as Cards point out, is the length of the contract. Yeah it's a great advantage to have the RFA tag, BUT...that tag becomes enforceable at the end of this year. Suddenly, what seemed "cheap" isn't so cheap anymore and the Lions MAY have to settle for the compensation pick. Even with that, should they net a 1st round pick, it will still fall significantly short of Greenway's current value.

Well with the compensation what I fear most is the Lions would have to draft another LB who will although be cheap but then they will have to wait even longer for him to grow into a force (that's if he does pan out), which would just set them back even farther s

From 1 article: With the news of Dansby on his way over, this might mean the Bills aren’t too pleased with two-year veteran Kelvin Sheppard, recording two sacks and 53 tackles for the team last season in 15 starts.
Another Article: In the middle, Kelvin Sheppard has shown that he will likely max out as a two-down thumper and a liability in the passing game.
Article 3: Arthur Brown could step in right away and help the team at middle linebacker, transitioning Kelvin Sheppard to a depth role.
Not alot of people high on Kelvin Sheppard while Greenway is a top 5 IDP option. he is as consistent and durable as they get.

I haven't seen anyone pay a 1st for a LB yet in RFA, Darryl, maybe I missed something I just haven't seen it yet so I think he's pretty safe in terms of keeping Kelvin cheap
