Seems like giving up 2 picks for a Kicker in this league is somewhat a "shocker" to some. For one of the starting positions that hold a lot of value, I think this is a darn good trade, and well worth it. Coming into this league, I gave two future 3rds for a Kicker and feel I won. I've also made a few other trades that have netted me high picks/good players in exchange for a Kicker.

With a few teams harboring 2-3 Kickers, their value will start becoming more and more apparent, especially for those teams who find they are without one for the season, which could make a difference in whether they win or lose.

*Full disclosure - I have 3 starting kickers on my roster so this may be a bit biased *

I agree with Cincy.

Only 32 of the buggers play on a given week. They usually play all 16 games, they don't get injured or pulled anywhere near as much as starting QBs. If you don't have one, you're giving away an average of 8-10pts a game, check your box scores from last year to see how many wins would have been losses without the kicker's points. Even if its only one, that could be the difference between playoffs and not.

The only thing here is that Carpenter can be a bit streaky and would be on a list of kickers you could see getting replaced mid-season which would make this trade look a bit foolish but, hey, that's a possibility with every trade.

lol the cardinal rule of trading IMO, is don't create a bigger hole on your roster than you fill by making the deal.

Kickers are very valuable as stated above , I don't know why some people can't see that.
