49ers get Jon Beason (LB - CAR) $10,663,800 (2011) [T] 2014 2nd (IND)
Colts get 2013 1st (49ers) 2014 1st (49ers) Shawntae Spencer (DB - SF) $3,100,000 (2012)
2 first round picks for an extremely expensive LB coming off an achilles injury. 49ers are obviously going with a win now strategy. Time will tell whether this was a good trade or not but I'm thinking Indy got the best of this one.

Definitely a possible win-win situation the way I see it. POSSIBLE being the key-word here. If Beason is able to perform on a level consistent with his pre-injury form, 49'ers will accomplish what they are seeking (at least towards performance at the position). Indy on the other hand - who could pass up such a chance? Shedding $10 Mil plus in cap AND gaining (2) 1st round picks is a huge leap towards continued rebuilding efforts over the next couple of years.
IF's and Possible's will indeed be determining factors.

I am totally going for it this year and two years ago Beason had 150 tackles. Yes, he's expensive, but I don't really value picks either.

Seems like an all in move by 9ers. Giving too much for a LB on a 10 mil contract, but at the same time to get the high reward (150 tackles is what 450 pts in our league?) you need to give up alot. Hope it works out for both, certainly aggressive on Truman's part.
