Johnson is not in the trade, so no.

not really the "deal" is a 4th for benson. anyone else could claim the DT before the 9ers..

In essence the deal is really the same though

It could be, but Johnson is not in the trade, so it's not the same.

It could be, but Johnson is not in the trade, so it's not the same. Yet you happen to be cutting him, an elite player at his position, hmmm

It's not the same deal.
I might not win the bid for him.
Either way, he gets the player he wants for a 4th and loses the same player.
Vote on the trade as it stands.

PLUS I'm losing my waiver position if I do win him.
So it does cost me extra to do it this way.
But a 4th for Benson is COMPLETELY fair.

say what you like but Bills is still giving up Johnson and a 4th for Bensen. 49ers might not get the player, but he rids himself of a huge salary impost and gets a 4th for it

Yeah, but he gets that salary right back with Johnson.

so it ended up exactly as originally proposed and rejected--same deal, different name

It MIGHT end up that way.
I'm taking an extra risk by trying to win him on waivers and losing my waiver position.
Hurts me more.

do you really think someone will claim him for $10mill ahead of you?
