Dallas offers Martellus Bennett 2yrs @ $1,100,000
though he has potential it is just that, potential ...so far. his best yr was his rookie season with less than 300 yds and 4TDs. he has only surpassed 200 yds rec once since then and has not scored a TD since 2008. even Rotoworld says "he's largely underachieved" and NYG only signed him to 1yr while drafting another TE they highly regard. "potential only" suggest he may be overpaid but $1.1M is what I tendered him so I am willing to pay it.

I believe you can only tender 4th yr players, and Bennett is entering his 5th yr.

Restricted Free Agents: Restricted Free Agents (RFAs) are free agents who have 3 years or less NFL experience (players are signed with RFA status if their last year under contract is their 3rd year or less). Years within the league will be determined by nfl.com at www.nfl.com/players. The only exceptions are the 10 players who were "grandfathered" in our initial 2009 season, with pre-existing contracts of over 3 years and RFA status. Who were the 10 players? I ask because when I took over the team Bennett already had RFA next to his name. I did not add it. |

Sorry guys. RFA status will stand and approvals are void as bid is invalid. Cowboys can either retain for one year at the tender amount or offer to re-sign to a longer contract ABOVE the tendering amount.
