Looking at the team I took over it needs many parts to compete. The team has lots of talent but talent doesn't win you fantasy games. I have looked at past years RFA and UFA and see the salaries. I would rather have proven players at a price I can deal with. I am trading for them rather than bidding on similar players in RFA/UFA. I have lots of cap which makes this a good trade on both sides.
I will try to break down why I am doing the trade. Trading Mahomes is very hard but the team was only 6-6 with him. QB's seem easier to get then stud RB's. Mahomes is cheap this year but goes up over $10m next year. Big Ben isn't going any where his NFL contract is way too big. I believe 2 more years for him to play. Ekeler is good RB but not a stud. Pollard is a back up. Kamara and Cooks is why I am doing this trade. You can't get those types of players without giving up some good players. Moore, Parker, Thomas all good players but all still average for fantasy. Jones WR is a FA and I think he has another good year. Gallop is talented and waiting for a new home down the road. Ertz TE is still a stud TE. I think he gets waived by PHI and gets a starting job and returns to top 10 TE and maybe top 5. Holmes, Hubbard, Muhammad are good players. Jordan DE is a stud and consistent top DE scorer. Others just depth. Bush LB is hard to trade but coming off an injury and more talent at LB to compete with, I would rather take a stud. Davis LB is one. Johnson LB is good and will get better. Others just depth. Getting Darby and Claybrooks will give me a solid CB core and depth. Winfield S coming off great year but TB rotates S's and if all are healthy he won't score this high again. Bush S should get a change to play if healthy. I included draft picks to make the deal work.
Asking around for stud RB's most owners either not trading or want 2 1st and one them must be top 5(no thanks) or Mahomes plus a pick.
This is a blockbuster trade with lots of moving parts. But I think it improves my team and makes it a playoff contender with more depth.
Thanks Baltimore for doing the deal.
