Mistake: Rankings was drafted 3.07 in our league. He was drafted in the 1st in the actual NFL draft.
So not a 1st but 3rd round compensation.

IT IS A FIRST ROUND PICK. WE USE THE NFL DRAFT POSITION WHICH IS EASILY VERIFIABLE VIA SPOTRAC.

When did we start using the round that they were drafted in the NFL as original rd tenders? I always thought that it was original round drafted in this league.

I guess it has always been that way in this league. I didn't know that. I think it's crazy to reward a DT with tender protection just because he was drafted in the NFL 1st but sucks as a fantasy player and drafted later in fantasy. In NFL draft someone gets drafted in late rounds gets 3rd round protection. Why not have the 4th round available for a tender. Salaries would rise and a 4th would actually mean something.
