Bidding on Transition Tags and Restricted Free Agency has officially closed. Here’s an update.
Transition Tag Bidding:
No bids were received on LB Kiko Alonso (KCC), WR Keenan Allen (DEN), LB Luke Keuchly (PHI) and QB Alex Smith (OAK). Therefore, the one-year transition contracts will be applied to these players. They will remain with their current teams for 2018 and will become free agents in 2019.
An $11,000,000 blind bid was received from the Cleveland Browns on QB Andrew Luck who was transition tagged by the Detroit Lions. The Browns are currently negotiating a contract with Andrew Luck. The Lions will receive two 1st Round picks from the Browns as compensation for loosing Andrew Luck.
Restricted Free Agency
Bidding:
Bids were received on 9 RFA players. 6 were signed by bidding teams and 3 were matched by controlling teams.
FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS, RFA Players not bid on can now be signed by their controlling teams to long term contracts. These contracts may be of a term of up to four years. The new contract must represent a salary increase from the tender given, and the contract quality of the player as compared to the average market value of similar players. Place your offers in the Tender thread and they must be approved by three TAB members. If you are denied the first time, you may submit a 2nd offer. If denied twice, or if no attempt is made to re-sign the player by NOON JUNE 2ND EDT, the player will play out his tender for the 2018 season and will become a free agent the following season.
Get your RFA bids in and your players re-signed for the 2018 season.
