bucs give up deforest buckner dt sf 1,014,000 (2020) raiders give up 2018 1st round pick and 2019 3rd round pick proposed on mfl bucs accept. Buckner was a late round first pick for me last year that worked out. I have tons of dt and while giving my best one up, i get great value and more flexibility, having players to step in for him. Thanks to raiders for 3 weeks of talks lol

Approve (1-0) That's really a high premium for a DT. Buckner is a great talent on a great contract, but a 1st & 3rd is a steep price. While it's not vetoable in my opinion, it's a great deal for the Buccaneers.

While grossly over-paying for a player isn't traditionally frowned upon in this league (and many others), as compared to grossly under-paying (based on real or perceived values), I think that the former should also be scrutinised in like fashion.
Trading a DT for a 1st round pick in this league is, at least as far as know, unprecedented. Drafting a DT in the first round is nearly non-existent, but again, as far as memory serves me, has only occurred on one other occasion. What appears to be an overpay is offset for reasons the Bucs has drafted the DT in the 1st round. So for them to re-coop a 1st for their selection, plus an additional later round pick, which is normally good practice when trading a player in exchange for picks imo, it's a job well done. Especially considering the Bucs are a non-contending team this year whereas the Raiders are in contention.
Good trade...Approve (3-0)
