Jax sends
Mike Glennon - 17: $3.10M, 18: $3.10M, 19: $3.10M
Chargers send
2018 Third (LAC)
Jacksonville accepts.
I traded for Glennon pre-draft (the real one) in the hopes I'd get at least one full season out of him with a fair chance of more. Then Chicago traded up, gave up some mid round picks and selected Trubisky. My thinking is now to get something for him now his value now diminished. 3rd round for a handcuff seems apposite to me. I get that he may start I also get Chicago won't sit on Mitch too long
Thank you Chargers good luck

The Chargers accept. I'm not really in a position where I need Glennon but he would be nice to have for a year in case Tannehill and Moore get injured. A 3rd for a one yeah insurance policy isn't going to break me, and if someone comes up with a good offer for Tannehill it gives me the flexibility to make that move.

Veto (1-1) This is an insanely low price for a starting QB on a great contract. I understand the Jags desire to get something for Glennon before he's replaced by Trubisky, however Glennon is the only currently starting QB on the Jags roster and trading his insures the tanking of the season. In the best interest of the competitive balance of the league, I can't approve this move.

Another tough call here, as i too believe as of now Glennon is the starter and starting QB's in these leagues cost effectively more.

First of all I'd just like to state once again that I'd really like to refrain from voting, if at all possible, as not to discourage other TAB members from voting, and with hopes of getting all of TAB involved in the process. At the same time, I also think it is important to cast timely votes and not leave prospective trades hanging in limbo.
Notwithstanding, I offer my analysis;
As mentioned above, Glennon is the starter. Because of his current circumstances, however, his value may be limited as compared to the cost of a franchise QB. Thus I agree that a 3rd round pick is insanely low. I believe that that the low price the Jaguars were able to pay to acquire him is representative of this fact. Even if he were eventually relegated to back-up duties, which is far from guaranteed atm, personally I would be hard pressed to let him go for a 3rd. He's not your average run of the mill back-up QB, and at his current contract price is more than worth his weight in gold.
Further (again assuming he is eventually relegated to back-up duties), given his circumstances, he's in a very good position. In agreeing w/the Chargers, a so-called one year insurance policy is not going to break him. By acquiring Glennon the value of Trubisky is significantly increased and makes Tanny expendable (I'm sure with a nice price-tag). Without Glennon, however, it would be that much harder to part with Tanny.
It amazes me that some GM's will obtain starting QB's to better their position to the detriment of another team, but often ignore the value of a good back-up QB.
Veto 1-3
