The Cincinatti Bengals have moved pass the Cleveland Browns and Kansas City Chiefs in the pecking order for a wildcard seed birth in the playoffs. They are now in the 7th position, but still remain one game behind both the Buffalo Bills and the San Diego Chargers, and 2 games behind the Oakland Raiders who they will face in Week 11. All 3 of those teams, along with the Bengals, have won their Week 10 match-ups.
They are also a game behind the Tennessee Titans, 2 games behind the New England Patriots, and 3 games behind the Baltimore Ravens. All 3 of those teams however are expected to win their division.

Week 10
Defeating the Baltimore Ravens in Week 10, the Cincinatti Bengals stay alive in the playoff race, winning their 5th consecutive game in row. With the San Diego Chargers defeating the Oakland Raiders this week, the Bengals are now 1 game behind both of those teams and the Buffalo Bills. They will have to beat out at least one of those teams in order to make it in.
The New York Jets nearly upset the Bills, which would have placed Cincinatti at the 6th seed position, but a costly fumble by James Jones cost them the game. "The final two games will be huge for us", says Bengals Owner Darryl Ray. "It would have been nice if the Jets could have beaten the Bills for us, but like I said in the beginning of this run, our destiny is in our own hands. Wherever we end up finishing, it will be because of our play this season."
With only two games remaining in the season, the Bengals must continue their winning streak, starting with the Raiders next week, and then finishing at home against division rival Cleveland Browns.
Other notable Week 11 games include; Chargers/Browns and Titans/Bills
Chiefs/Ravens was expected to be a great match-up, but with Matt Cassel landing on IR, unless KC finds a replacement QB it is highly unlikely.

The Chargers organization would like to add that they will be rooting for the Bengals to down their AFC rival Raiders. The ownership wishes the Bengals luck as both teams head into an important stretch and hope Darryl picks up the W here.

Week 11
Losing to the Oakland Raiders in Week 10, the Cincinatti Bengals have all but squandered any chance they may of had in getting a playoff birth. The loss was their 5th of the season, dropping their overall record to 6-5.
Owner Darryl Ray says that there were plenty of mistakes made that caused them to lose the game, which if they had won would of placed them within the seeding chart. "We should have won the game, no if's, and's, or but's about it. I've made my share of mistakes this season, including this game and take full responsibility for the loss. However, what's done is done and we can only go on and build from here. And it starts at the top with myself." The Raiders have a good team and I congratulate them in their win
The only way into the playoffs at this point is with outside help, as their own destiny is no longer in their own hands. Not only must they win next week against division rival Cleveland Browns, but the Buffalo Bills (7-4), who lost against the Tennessee Titans this week, must lose to the Miami Dolphins next week as well.

Week 12
The Cincinatti Bengals defeated division rival Cleveland Browns, finishing their season at 7-5 and going 3-3 in their division. With the Bills (8-4) topping the Dolphins this week, Buffalo enters the playoffs as the 6th seed, leaving the Bengals on the outside looking in.
With their season finished, the Bengals will continue to work behind the scenes within their organization.
Facing tremendous odds in building a competitive team, Cincinatti was faced with the task of finding a starting QB and RB before the season got underway. They did that.
After an 0-3 start to the year, they finished out the first half of the season at 2-4. The second half of the season they finished at 5-1. Owner Darryl Rays says, "If we would have played the first half of the season like we did the second half of the season, we would be the #1 seed in the AFC".
According to the statistics he's right. Cincinatti could have won all 5 of their losses - and should have lost 1 of their wins. That would have given them a record of 11-1, enough for second best record in the FFL.
"There's always next year, and we're expected to bring back a lot of the talent on our team. We're young, we're good, and as long as we can stay healthy, we'll win our division and make the playoffs next year in a convincing fashion".

Bengals finished the 2011 Season at 7-5, placing a second place finish in the AFC North.

Looking forward towards the 2012 Season, the Cincinatti Bengals will work on re-signing key players and improving the efficiency of the team’s starting players. After a slow and painful 1-4 start at 80.12%, they finished out the year with a total average of only 84.5%, averaging 88.585% over their final 7 games.
There highest low-score total for all losses was 82.5%.
For all wins their lowest-high total was 87.3%, indicating they would need at least that rate in 2012 to be somewhat competitive. With other teams who were building last year expected to be joining the competition this coming year, the Bengals know they have to do far better than the 87.3%.
They averaged 89.6% in games won, while only averaging 78.7% in games lost.
Increasing their PPG average (187.8), in which they finished the season 8th in the league, will also be a major focus towards improvement. The Bengals left a league high slew of points on the board that would have netted them 5th in the league in PPG were they able to capitalize on the use of their players. Those lost points also played a large role in Cincy’s Win/Loss record of 7-5, in which 4 of those losses could’ve resulted in a win.
With a full season of play behind them, Cincinatti is eyeing the AFC North Championship for 2012.

The Cincinatti Bengals have forfeited their 2012 Draft in favor of acquiring talent that will help them pursue efforts of creating a dynasty... The trading of their picks, coupled with other players or through a process of trades has led them to acquire:
Joe Flacco Ryan Matthews Kendall Hunter Torrey Smith Laurent Robinson Rey Maualuga Aaron Williams Kendrick Lewis
Surely foregoing the upcoming draft was well worth their efforts. What do you think?

You traded all your next 3years worth of picks apart from 2014 2nd, quite a price for potential quality.

That's okay with me...I also had to acquire a QB and RB to even consider competing (not all of us were so lucky). Here's where I started on Offense: QB - None RB - Bernard Scott WR - Shipley, Caldwell, Ochocinco, Simpson TE - Gresham K - Nugent As I've said, picks well spent
