This is just another case of someone overvaluing a DL that had a great year... It happens just about every year... I remember when jpp was traded for a huge haul and has been mediocre ever since. I think TB loses big in this trade but I don't think it can be vetoed because there is too much personal preference. There's probably someone in here that thinks both Spiller and Quinn are worth 2 1st rounders each. Spiller definitely has value still and is a FT candidate. Quinn obviously has good value as well I just think he's being overvalued.

We will leave that to our TAB members to sort out. Obvi Tampa and my self see differently, and ravens . We will see, But I don't know how the ravens saw this as passable.

Like Raiders said, we're probably all overvaluing Quinn, but his value right now is sky high. Yes, a first would've made this better obviously, but imo Spiller's upside is good enough to make this passable. (Along with McCoy's $8M contract, even though that's not too pricey for a RB1 it's still a good amount of cap)

I don't see it as passable. Plus Spiller will cost just as much as McCoy or more to FT.

Know one can predict the future. We can't say Quinn is going to flop just because JPP did it to. What's Quinn's value if he does the same thing next year.

Also look at Quinn's contract. Huge bonus . I would not trade Quinn for anything less then a 1st and a good player.

As much as I would have liked to get a high first+a young player, I was turned down in every offer I was proposed. I get the number one d lineman, picks, and a RB with loads of potential. I'll definitely take that.

I don't really know the value of players here enough to know what dline are valued at here but Spiller being on a one year deal is what sours the deal for me personally. Owners obviously have their own motivations so to each their own but that was just what stood out to me.

Ya, but Spiller can be tagged next year and it shouldn't cost a ton over what McCoy is making (8M). Spiller is very cheap this year as well and could be tagged a 3rd year even... it would be expensive but if you averaged the 3 year cost of both Spiller and McCoy it would probably be close since Spiller is only 405K this year. McCoy could be tagged after his contract as well, but he will be nearing 30 at that point and could be out of the league for all we know.
When DL have a good year here they tend to be heavily overvalued IMO. I'm sure quite a few people would have given up more than a 1st for Quinn. I'd probably pay a low to mid 1st for him, but I bet someone here would be willing to pay quite a bit for him. He was a star last year and probably scored well over double the average DL but I just think DL are usually inconsistent. It's a cheap position to fill, just very hard to fill with top talent and I think that's why people value guys like Quinn so high. I think Quinn will continue to be a top DL but I'm not sure he will continue to be a huge impact player in the league.
In the end though... Spiller still has a lot of question marks while McCoy has proven to be one of the top backs in the game and is in just about the best possible offensive scheme for a RB. I like the Chiefs side of the trade but I can see the value in both sides and I understand if you were a Spiller fan, how this deal might look good to you. I don't think it's vetoable.
