Wow. Just wow. (Eval coming tonite) I think William Moore is slightly overpriced…but still a good safety, and Andre Johnson is obviously a beast, but definitely aging, and I don't know what his value will be in 2016. I really don't like David Wilson because he was awful before the injury, so I don't get why he'd suddenly be good after the injury, especially since he hasn't really been practicing. Beanie Wells is obviously just dead money. So that leaves AP. To have AP take up nearly 25% of your cap space is insane, but when you have as much cap space as the Ravens (who are loaded, and have cap space) I guess it is possible. So overall, I think it sucks for Ravens to lose William Moore, but with the deep wideout core, and since I don't like Wilson, I think the ravens win this deal. However, I see why the chargers would want to add depth by making this deal (especially if they like David Wilson)

Of course AP is...well, AP - Wilson may do something this year. Of course not nearly as much as AP, unless some type of mishap happens. Overall, not a bad deal for either team. As far as the over-pricing of Moore, many players have fallen and will continue to fall into that category.

If my trade was bad...this one is bad also...don't try to tell me the amount that AP is paid makes a difference. He is a top five back (even though he ended up 9th because of injury) and he will score point top 5 RB pts for a couple or more years.
How did this trade make it through?
Ravens get:
RB: Adrian Peterson, MIN - $17,400,000 (2015) *** top 5 RB in our league ***
Chargers get:
RB: David Wilson, NYG - $2,321,000 (2016) *** injured - may never be the back he could have been *** RB: Beanie Wells, FA- $910,000 (2016) *** injured - will never be the back he could have been - still a FA *** WR: Andre Johnson, HOU - $6,000,000 (2016) *** good player that needs a QB - has a couple years left, but he will be 33 yrs old when this season starts...and 35 when this league's contract runs out *** DB: William Moore, ATL - $4,500,000 (2015) *** good player - big contract considering he is 24th in average pts per week in 2013, but he does not really differentiate himself by more than a couple of points from the top 60 DB's.

how can you not discuss the 17.4M price tag on Peterson compared to the 3.35M on Charles??? Or the fact that Peterson is 2 years older? I think alleviating that huge cap burden in Peterson was a huge reason for this trade. Chargers come out with an aging WR1... but his price tag is still very reasonable, a DB1 and a young cheap RB with high potential. Sure Wilson has alot of question marks now but he's signed for 3 more years, he's very young and we will get more chances because he is very talented. Chargers are obviously taking on more risk in this deal but it could turn out very well for them if Wilson pans out. Rudolph and KC's 2 1st rounders would need to pan out for his deal to turn out good. Charles at 3.35M is worth twice Peterson at 17.4M IMO. Shit you could get Charles and sign another RB1 in FA with the extra 14 mil... Isn't that close to what Forte went for in FA?

That being said... I'm not sure the trade was veto-able. If you want to argue that its because KC is new then ya maybe I can see it. I do think Packers win this trade but I'm also pretty sure if this was myself and the packers or Dan and the Packers there wouldn't be any vetos.

Jerry Reese GM for the giants was on record at the combine saying the team will "definently" be looking at free agency and the draft for running back help. Wilson isn't guaranteed a starting job come September. Just some food for thought. How does that trade look if Wilson, who is recovering from a pretty significant injury, is not even a starting RB for the giants.

You think Chargers didn't know about the health problems before accepting the deal? It was more about cap for him and getting a WR1 than David Wilson..Wilson was just a part of the deal that could push the deal in his favor.

Getting healthy and being ready for camp and having your job waiting for you is one thing, but when the GM talk about bringing in help at the combine, not a huge ringing endorsement. SO the reason that deal went through was what? 5 million dollars in savings and a 32 year old wr? Again not trying to be critical about a deal two teams worked out, I hate doing it, I'm just trying to get a better understanding of what a top 5 backs value is worth. Again I am new, as someone already mentioned, always trying to learn

Again I am new, as someone already mentioned, always trying to learn I find it interesting how people knock Johnson about his age, when he hasn't shown any signs of slowing down even with a bad QB throwing him the ball..dude was still a top 10 WR last year and was a monster down the stretch. He's still a WR1 at a better price than other WRs with similar production. I also value JC more than AP because AP has 1000 more touches than JC. Yes, 1000. So while AP obviously is still very good, I'd rather have JC because of his contract.

Again, not trying to be critical of a deal between two teams, it really isn't my business at all. Just trying to learn. Thanks ravens

If David Wilson becomes a featured back this would be a huge win for SD. I think even if he's a rotational back its a fair trade. He wasn't the main piece of the trade, Andre was.

And Hopkins isn't going to have any impact on Andre moving forward?
