Bengals give; Shaun Draughn (RB-KCC) $505,000 (2013) RFA Donnie Avery (WR-IND) $2,910,000 (2015) Michael Bennett (DE-TBB) $480,000 RFA Paris Lenon (LB-ARI) $1,400,000 (2012) Brad Jones (LB-GBP) $1,849,000 (2015) Prince Amukamara (CB-NYG) $796,000 (2013) RFA Danny McCray (S-DAL) $580,000 (2015) Madieu Williams (S-WAS) $1,100,000 M.D. Jennings (S-GBP) $230,000 (2013 RFA Jairus Byrd (S-BUF) $800,000 (2012)
Falcons give; Alshon Jeffery (Chi-Wr) - 1,463,000 (2016) Sean Weatherspoon (Atl - LB) $405,000 (2014) Philip Wheeler (Ind - LB) $2,500,000 (2014) Antoine Bethea (Ind - DB) $4,745,000 (2013) Falcons 2014 1st
I accept with this post. Quite a few players, but simpler than it seems. Basically I'm giving up a run at the title this year (which hurts) in hopes of building a stronger competitive team in the future. Bethea isn't really needed, but was added for cap purposes with an exchange for McCray.
Falcons gain a legitimate shot to compete by dramatically raising their ppg, which they will need.

You guys are clearly taking advantage of Falcons.. i mean cmon, the best player he gets is expiring. AND he is adding Bethea. This is almost as bad as Dan's, but not as bad. BUT still enough to VETO

I dont understand why the first is necessary, Bengals is getting the best 2-3 players in the deal for this league, sure Madeiu and Jarius are nice, but they aren't essential to a championship, thats what i don't get. Spoon, Wheeler and Bethea are all better options to win this year then anyone in the deal. AND Falcons gives a 1st? Rubbish.

Hey, at least Daniel was sending back a 2nd rd pick for ATL 1st. I guess some people are happy to downgrade is the quantity is enough. 3 best players are going to CIN.
It will get approved so Falcons can learn his "lesson" that this is not good. If he wants to win, he should keep his players and acquire short term guys for his picks, but giving up 3 of the 5 best players on his team is not the way to do it.

I'm really not sure how much this helps the Falcons playoff chances. He's still lacking a TE, his WR's and flex are average at best. He gains at DE, RB, and DB in this trade. I think he gains around 30 - 35 ppg in this trade. 10 ppg max out of Draughn. 5 ppg extra for the upgrade from Graham to Bennett. Byrd and Bethea are a wash in ppg. Madeau offers 13 ppg. Jeffrey and Avery are a wash after this week. Maybe another 7 ppg out of one of the DB's. The problem is that puts the falcons at around 200 ppg. NOT enough to seriously compete with the other playoff contenders in this league that are averaging around 240 - 250 ppg.
IMO Bengals are selling high on all of these players. Most likely every one of these players will never have a higher value then they have now. Bennett is arguable but I really doubt he ends the season with 12 sacks after compiling 6 so far. Bennett does have some long term value in the Bengals defense though. Shaun Draughn (RB-KCC) $505,000 (2013) RFA Donnie Avery (WR-IND) $2,910,000 (2015) Michael Bennett (DE-TBB) $480,000 RFA Paris Lenon (LB-ARI) $1,400,000 (2012) Brad Jones (LB-GBP) $1,849,000 (2015) Madieu Williams (S-WAS) $1,100,000 M.D. Jennings (S-GBP) $230,000 (2013) RFA
The trade really isn't terrible. If it was the other way around I don't think anyone would be complaining. I really find it hard to account for the first rounder though. Without the 1st rounder I still wouldn't do the trade myself but it seems more equal. The falcons aren't left with nothing after this year. They will have decent pieces in Bennett and Amukamara, and McCray, Avery, and Draughn offer some slight upside. This is a tough trade for TAB to vote on, but I'm not sure it disrupts the balance of the league enough to warrant a veto. Falcons will still have plenty of pieces to build on next year. Almost guaranteed to be a bad decision by the Falcons but it's not enough to say it disrupts the integrity of the league or puts the Falcons in a position where if he left, no one would want to claim his team. I say congrats to Bengals, let the trade pass.

How is the Bears allowed to vote on a trade that of course he wants approved because he is dealing for one of the traded players? He talked about how bad the trade was until a deal was worked out with Bengals?

I had voted before any trade talks were discussed between Bengals and myself. I believe I made my reasoning pretty clear as to why I voted the way I did as well.

Still a conflict of interest.

Well, I am sorry you feel that way. In the future I will try to be as mindful of that as I can, but in my defense I waited as long as I could before the vote had to be cast due to one of the players playing. The trade still wasn't approved and I feel TAB really dropped the ball when they can't get a decision out before the first game of the week.

I just think that should be considered in the future. As you can see how it can easily be misconstrued. I dont think you would vote a certain way just because you have interest in acquiring a certain player. I would also like to see trades finalized before a team trades away a newly acquired player in a separate deal so that there is no questioning needed.

Should the Bears/Bengals trade even be valid. This trade wasnt accepted until after the deadline so the other deal couldnt technically be made until that time

with all the players involved, it would have been simpler to just change teams

"Per skins, offer has been withdrawn due to change of heart upon reevaluation of trade. He pm'ed his wish to have it withdrawn prior to the acceptance of the Vernon Davis trade."
From a trade earlier on in the year. The phrase that makes me think that the deal isnt actually able to go through is. "As trade post would not have been official until after that this trade is nulled." The deadline was before the Falcons deal was confirmed, so this deal should be official until that one is completed
